Wow, THANK YOU! I was having so many problems with my current world, but it is one of the only ones that is updated for all of the expansion packs. Legacy Island 2 was always one of my favorites. I randomly decided today to check and see what you had been creating lately and I am SO EXCITED that there's a Legacy Island 3!!! This is the only world I need until Sims 4 is released. Again, thank you so much! Your worlds are absolutely perfect.

ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not sure if you NEED it or if the game will start messing up without it.
There are a lot of trees and fish and bugs and the Nectar places. You could always try it and if it doesn't then you can uninstall the world. =]

ReplyDeleteI just want to ask you one question~ last night I played sims and I go to the place which looks like a waste disposal site. Well it was not really that place because it has a building, and when I went inside the building and go downstairs.. there's a skeleton and jail. I was surprised, but I can't go inside there because for unknown reason my sim can't open the door. Person's curiosity never stop so I forced my sim to go inside the door.. and there's another secret door! A door which can be opened only by using a star shaped keystone...and I can't find that keystone anywhere in the place :(
I don't know how to solve this puzzle.. can you please give me a little hint or answer?

ReplyDeleteThe entrance to the Science facility is through the Cemetery- it's a little hidden tomb with a passage.
There is a hole with a switch on one tomb and then inside another which opens a passage to the Science building.
In the science building there is one door to the electric room which has a switch to open the doors. Then, if I remember right, there's a wall switch to get into the treasure room and open the doors out.
I made it to add some fun and a little twist to the island. :)

I don't know... there are objects and some pets in the world.... I might or might not work. I've seen people install worlds without any expansions and it'd work but then again, sometimes it doesn't. :(
If you do try and it doesn't work, clear you cache files and your WorldCaches folder. :)
We read so much good stuff about Legacy Island 3 we wanted to try it. We have all ex packs and a lot of store stuff. The game loaded ok and looks fantastic. So after playing a while the game was saved, but trying to open the saved game later caused it to crash. We cleared all cache files and loaded the game again. But every time we try and open a saved game it crashed, it opens good for every new play, but all the saves cause crashes. We tried this many times. Please let us know if there's any way to fix this?

I'm so sorry... I know how frustrating it can be.
From my understanding- it's usually a mod or CC problem. Did you download a new lot or Sim, too?
(read through and then each step carefully)
The way to find out is-
*Go to your Electronic Arts folder in your Documents folder (Documents) and rename the The Sims 3 folder to Holding.
Go into the Holding folder ->Downloads -> and double click on the World pack (Legacy Island 3). This will open the Launcher and create a new The Sims 3 folder.
Run your game. There will not be any mods or CC but the world. This would be a clean save. Play and save, close down the game and reopen to see if the save will play.
If it does than it's a mod/CC problem. You can delete the new The Sims folder and then rename the Holding folder back to The Sims 3- all your stuff will be back. :)

ReplyDeleteiirc- the doors are opened from the one electric room. It's kinda in the center but looks locked. That opens one door which goes to open the next door which....It's been so long. I'll have to install it and get back to you. =D
Hello I have all expansion packs and legacy island 3 is my FAVORITE world of all of them. But my game crashes and freezes in this world, do you have any advise? It usually crashes in CAS during clothing edit but now they froze when I tried to send them to China. They didn't move.

Hi, We have several of your worlds and have been having problems with the game freezing or crashing. I did a reinstall, checked all my downloads with Custard and found several of your worlds have corrupt png files, (not a DBPF) Those were the ones we are having problems with.... Beach City, Bellatrix, Haunted Valley II, Legacy Island III, and Manave Isles. Is there a way to fix them? None of the other worlds are having the same problems. Please let me know what to do cause we love these worlds. Thanks

DeleteCustard (is that what you're using) always reads world files as Corrupt. How many other worlds have you checked? There are many reasons for freezing and stuttering in the game. How long have you played them? Are you cleaning out their memories? Do you use any mods and any NRaas mods to help? Are you deleting your Cache Files? Are you keeping your DCBackup cleaned out? Are you checking on stuck animals? Have you added any prebuilt houses which might have used MOO in the building? Let me know what specifically is happening and maybe I can help. :mrgreen:

ReplyDeleteI love this world. Beautiful job, probably one of the best custom worlds I've downloaded and I've tried most all that i've been able to find.
ReplyDeleteGot tired of fiddling around with Bridgeport and CAW one day and had the brilliant notion to find someone who had already done all the work. Found Legacy Island III in the shop, and with some minimal tweaking added the few custom content lots that weren't already established in some capacity. I've barely begun to explore everything there is to offer, but I couldn't be happier with my experience so far. Thank you for your superb work here. (P.S. slightly bummed that I missed out on the skydiving center before it was discontinued, but there's a lovely spa in its place now.)

In legacy III, I need a good place to put the boardwalk. If I bulldoze the oil rig, will I lose anything important? I saw scrap piles and drills you can use, anything else? I have nowhere else ideal to put it... What would you do?

DeleteI've not thought about where to put that boardwalk... what an interesting idea. If you do put it on the rig make sure to check the lot for Spawners. I might have put some there; which won't be deleted when you delete the lot. You must go in with testcheats on and the buydebug on to see them.

I was led here by a MTS uploader and I'm glad that I was! This world is wonderful, I've been playing it for a couple days and I'm really enjoying it so far. It was pretty much everything from all the EPs combined into one neighborhood without much trouble or fuss; the sim families and lots are all great too. After several years I finally got tired of EAs buggy and inadequate worlds. So yeah, thanks a ton for this! You've really done a terrific job.

DeleteWe enjoy playing in Legacy Island 3. Recently I've wanted to move the Vault of Antiquity, but it doesn't show up in edit town, nor can I highlight the lot to move it. Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to open create a world just for that one lot, but I had ideas I wanted to try. Any help would be appreciated.

That should enable you to open locked lots. :)
It might require the buydebug on code but I don't remember (I usually always have the debug on). :)

DeleteHi there! I'm glad to see you're helping people with problems they've found in the world! For some reason, the combined rabbitholes are not working in my world. When I click the map tags, no options show up. For example, the bookstore/dayspa combo. I went and changed it from "no visitors allowed" to "bookstore" and it's functional again but only as a bookstore! how can I make it so that it's a bookstore/dayspa again? I need to do this with all the combined rabbitholes :(

DeleteI've not heard of this problem before. I would save them to the Bin, delete them from the world, then put the saved copy back. That should clear any problems.
Also, make sure your CC/Mods are up to date.

DeleteMaybe, since it isn't a stuck or bad path (made by the game), you can go into the lot and make the game see that side of the lot as the front. Maybe the car will take them there.
The game decides where to drop them off... at the front. I actually don't think it's a problem- to redo the whole world.

DeleteI'm currently trying to make a gameplay with a big family that owns a Luxury Hacienda, but the biggest lots available in game aren't enough for everything I want to have, stables, tennis courts, guest house, vineyard, etc.
So I looked at the country farm looking part of the town where the Farm legacy lot is located and thought that if deleted the current buildings and lots, I could replace them with new lots for my Hacienda, but the thing is that there many parts that have the un-routable paint from CAW making it impossible for me to place lots in any different way than the original.
I can't fix that myself because I have a Mac, so that means no CAW tool for (yeah Macs aren't for gaming I know, its for my work and the only game I play is the Sims 3 so buying a new gaming PC isn't an option right now for me)
So if you could do me the big favor, if you have the time and will of removing that un-routable spray paint from all that area I would be eternally glad and in debt with you.

Hi I am new to posting about worlds so please bear with me. I am playing legacy islands 3 and love it thank you so much for your hard work. I am really enjoying the world but i am having routing issues with the map tags I can send a sim to a location and they are stuck there unable to leave they cannot go home unless I do a teleport to get them there help please I have a good computer CPU speed @ 360 * gig ram I 3

Need help, I adore your worlds, but whenever I download them from your studio on the sims 3 site they show as having some issue, highlighted in red, when I run them through custard? In fact every world I download does that and I cant find out why?

I can't find a link now, so I'm wondering if using the version without Into the Future will work anyways since I have it? Or will it mess something up? I can't remember my password nor even my e-mail (had it since Sims 1) so I can't log into the sims store.
